The paper is the outcome of a series of interviews made to ten immigrants in Parma, a medium-size town in Emilia-Romagna, Italy. The authors concentrate on the sense of belonging of the immigrants in the destination area, discussing their favorite places to live and to meet friends. The discussion about relationships with places is crucial for the understanding of the complex migratory experience and as well to build a successful governance of the processes of integration and coexistence.
