The Symbolic Geography of Sport: from Space to Place.

The contribution originated from the survey conducted by the Center OMERO that has provided the city of Turin with its twelve years expertise on sport and mega event to study its designation as European Capital of Sport 2015. As a case in point he authors consider the capacity of this event(s) to shape the city’s symbolic geography of sport. To this extent, they analyze historic sports practices as well as symbolic sport times and places of Turin.
