The Author – after a discussion of the “latest readings” of the Postilla amiatina (de jure or deiure, which she considers inadmissible) and of the interpretative hypotheses based on them (regarded as equally unsatisfactory) – proposes both an alternative explanation of the anomaly which is recognizable in the graphic segment de ill rebottu and a different interpretation of the text, suggested by the mandatory model of the early medieval cartula and supported by new linguistic observations.
