The essay analyses Sanguineti’s relationship with Lucretius, developed in his collaborations with musicians and theater directors (Luciano Berio and Luca Ronconi above all). It then focuses on two translations of De rerum natura included by Sanguineti in his latest collection, Varie ed eventuali (2010): Proemio Lucreziano and Un’imitazione da Lucrezio, both of which faithfully respect the descriptive and materialistic realism of Lucrezio.
