The essay offers a preliminary examination of the correspondence between Giuseppe Albini (1863-1933) and Francesco D’Ovidio (1849-1925). Following a concise archival and philological overview, it presents an analysis – through selected excerpts – of the revision work carried out by Albini on D’Ovidio’s edition of Metamorphoseon libri XV (Turin, Paravia, 1911).
